Getting lost in a book

Hello!

I have quite a busy day today, this morning i went to the Unie van Vrijwilligers (translated means: Union of Volunteers) to discuss my application for the vacancy of Hostess in Sophia's childrens hospital in Rotterdam.
Im very positive and I've been told that I will be called next week to discuss which days I am available.
After my meeting i went to the public library also in Rotterdam and took some books home with me, they couldn't represent me more at this moment:

Victorian England  - W.J. Reader
Girls growing up in late Victorian and Edwardian England  - Carol Dyhouse
Geisha - Liza Dalby
Het Pad van eenvoud ( Path of simplicity) - Christina Feldman
Het meditatie handboek ( Meditation Guidebook) - Geshe          Kelsang Gyatso

I am currently fascinated with Geisha's and beauty in different times and countries
It is so interesting that Geisha's lived in their own beautiful worlds. If you want to know about Geisha's then I suggest you read geisha by Liza Dalby who lived with a certain group of Geisha's.

Victorian England is an era which really interests me. The fashions of the time and If you ever come across a book about victorian advice on things like womanhood you should definately read it. Yesterday I read a Vcitorian article about make-up and dying your  hair etc. I came to the conclusion that we are not that different from them. Now we may critize people about the amount of make up they use or what they do with their hair, People have been complaining about this even 150 years ago. certains things like  "why do not women dress their hair to suit the particular character of their own faces, instead of making themselves ugly by following whatever is the fashion" - Mrs. H.R.Haweis, The art of beauty, 1878

I found this article and other articles about beauty in victorian times on this website:

A story about Love

Hello!

This time im going to tell a story about Love, which is what i believe the strongest power there is in the world. It is the only force that can change a situation or even the whole world for the better.
Love cannot be predicted it cannot be forced nor can it be made by human hands, Love will just happen.
I remember as a little child, all the girls I grew with knew how many children they wanted to have when they grew up, how their husbands would look like, what kind of mother they would be.
Now I on the other hand thought how can you make such a prediction. Having children is not something you decide on your own you cannot force a person to love you so much  that they would want to have children.
We all grow up (at least many of us) with this fairytale kind of Love. Yet this is quit contradictive in our way of living. Our life's now are not romantic they are not fairytale like they are cold and hard and most of the time revolve around money.
This is how we are all suppose to spend our lifes: finish secondary school,go to college/university,make a career, find a husband, get children and live happily ever after.

Love in my opinion cannot be expected nor predicted. there is no recipe for happiness and not everybody is made for this kind of lifestyle. I know alot of women who have lived such a life. They are either single mother's in their midlifecrisis or they have never had children and live alone.
I also believe that the age for getting children is not a sort of marker that says from this age you will live a happy life with your child. Some people are older when they get their children but that doesnt mean that they are happier in the end. It is true the older you are the less financial problems you'll have if you lived you're life according to plans. My Best friend became a mother at 19. she is a single mom and faces problems on a daily basis. She realises that she is a mother and cannot do the "normal"things which other young adults do, yet why should she not be happy. she has a beautiful baby daughter who keeps smiling up towards her mother. reminding her mother that she has brought something beautiful in the world that she has to care for. A a bond of Love which will never be broken.

Love is a power we cannot grasp  It hides until it decided to show up. Love will not appear with money nor will it be pushed away with money . Love is the most beautiful thing in the world which binds people together. Love is trust and forgiveness. The more we Love in this world we can change it and make it better.

Generation Superstar

Hi!

So i have a new blog. I also have a Tumblr account which I use more as a source of inspiration more then anything else. I've decided to make a seperate personal blog so I can bring my thoughts into the world.
This blog is called Freedom Beauty Truth and Love. It is not about me or somebody else. it is a blog merely upholding these 4 beautiful words as a principle.
I have seen to many blogs about people who thanks to social media have gained "star status". although I do think some of them are truly inspirational and interesting.I find it kind of strange that their daily activities like their meals, their clothes, their looks are so important.. there are people in the world who don't have meals or clothes yet these people do not matter. This is a blog not about one single person, it is not about my clothes or my meals. but  as an Anthropology student it is about us humans, our societies ,our morals and principles.
Yes this blog does have a personal touch and altough I am part of the Generation Superstar. I would not want  my message to world to be overshadowed by my own personal vanity.
